Jama Connect® SSO Impacts with the Continued Use of our Internal Developed Jama SAML Service Post October 30th, 2023

Effective November 1, 2023 -- Jama Software will no longer support our internally developed SAML service for authentication. Jama Connect® SSO Impacts with the Continued Use of our Internal Developed Jama SAML Service Post October 30th, 2023

Environmental details: Cloud customers using our Internal Developed Jama SAML for authentication

Problem/Summary:

This guide outlines the steps to contact support to migrate from Jama SAML to Auth0. It also highlights the impacts on SSO if not completed by October 31, 2023.

Issues Caused by Remaining on Internal Jama SAML Service:

  • Jama SAML will no longer be available from October 31, 2023.
  • Please be advised that if you do not choose an alternative option before November 1, 2023, users of Jama Connect® will not be able to access their accounts using their SSO credentials.
  • You will automatically upgrade to basic authentication. 
    • *NOTE: Once basic authentication is enabled - All pre-existing users will lose all their previous activity. 

Affected customers and Org Admins need to know:

  • Org Admins will be required to create new user accounts for all users. 
  • Org admins can create users one at a time or with the user import plugin. 
  • Users will lose all of their previous activity.
  • All instances must be migrated. 

Named Support Contact Action Required 

*All steps must be completed on or before October 27, 2023.

Go to the Support Page: https://support.jamasoftware.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and submit a request using the following details:

    • Request Type: “Jama Connect® Cloud Customer Support Request Form”
    • Enter the email address of the person with access to your IDP and authentication details.
    • Subject: Migration from Jama SAML to Auth0
    • In the Description field, include:
      • Specify that you are ready to work with support to update your Jama SAML authentication to Auth0.
      • Indicate the type of IDP you are using (e.g., Okta, Azure, etc.).
      • Include the URL of your hosted instance(s) (Prod, Sandbox, or Both).
      • Engagement Preference: Choose between a live working session via screen share or working primarily through the support ticket via email.
      • Priority: Normal
    • Complete all required fields.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Submit.”

Support Team Next Steps:

  • Allow 2-3 business days for a technical resource to be assigned to the ticket, and they will reach out with the next steps for the migration task.
  • Once the steps are implemented on your end as per your preference, you can request a call or work through the request to complete the migration from Jama SAML to Auth0.
    • (Note: The migration takes about fifteen minutes and should not require downtime.
  • Once the migration is successful, your ticket is resolved, and your authentication is updated to Auth0. Your Customer Success Manager will be notified for record updating.
