How to Update LDAP Username in Jama

Once user information such as Full Name, First Name, Last Name or Email have been updated in your local LDAP directory; you can update the user information in Jama by re-synching the LDAP server.

 

From the root menu:
Root Menu

System Properties > Authentication Properties > LDAP > Synchronize Now

 

If a user’s username has been updated in your local LDAP directory, please follow the instructions below in order to update the username in Jama. It is worth noting, minor changes to a username such as capitalization of a character will not have any effect on how a username is treated. Please note: users will not be able to log into Jama while you are updating the username in Jama.

 

1) Ensure you have successfully updated the user’s username in your local LDAP directory.

 

2) Temporarily disable LDAP in your Jama instance.

From the root menu:

 System Properties > Authentication Properties > LDAP. Uncheck the box: Enable LDAP

 

3) Select the Save button on the right.

 

4) Once LDAP is disabled in your Jama instance, proceed to update the affected user in Jama to match the new LDAP username.

 

5) Re-enable LDAP in your Jama instance.

From the root menu:

 System Properties > Authentication Properties > LDAP. Check the box Enable LDAP
