Ability to import Word and RTF files directly

I'd like to have the ability to import either a word document and an RTF file into a RTF field. Right now, I must cut-and-paste, and that often leads to bad results with formatting.
The use-case behind this is that I'm working requirements which are based on a complex word document. I wasn't able to just import the word document into the RTF field or into a Content Template, forcing me to recreate the document in the Content Template. An additional use case is that the instructions for the requirements is a word document, and I'd like to be able to display the instructions as such in conjunction with the fields that the Jama users need to fill out.
