Open in new tab for item from another project

Open the bottom panel to view the relationships of an item. If you click to "Open in new tab" for an Item upstream or downstream belonging to another project, a new tab will be opened switching to the new project but also the old one will be closed. Can we change this? One possibility is to open a new tab in the Browser, so to be possible to have open both tabs of different projects?
