Remove Sample data from the environment

    Good morning,

Is there a simple way to remove the sample projects data that come with Jama Connect?  We are building a new environment to clone for User Acceptance Test and Production environments.  Therefore, we do not want any sample data on it.  Thanks,

    Hi Khuemy,

You can remove any unwanted Projects by navigating to Admin > Projects and selecting them individually from the Projects Tree.

Before you do so, please review these sections from our User Guide regarding deleting vs archiving Projects.

    Delete a Project
    Archive a Project

Once a project is deleted, there's no way to restore the project. When a project is deleted, all the data (including attachments that were first uploaded to that project) in that project is deleted. However, this doesn't automatically free up space in the database. A database administrator must manually compact the database.

As an alternative, you can archive, rather than delete a project, to avoid accidentally removing any other data permanently.

Let me know if you have any questions.

If you need to also delete item types, pick lists, editor templates etc... you must FIRST delete the items from the Projects BEFORE deleting the projects.
