If a reviewer is added after a new revision to a review has been posted.  In the highlight view, if they select an older revision than when they joined, they get a "You don't have permission to perform this action." dialog button...which seems reasonable.  Afterwards, instead of going back to review, the screen is blank except for the Jama Tab along the top.  To return to where you were, you have to press the REVIEWS tab to bring up all available reviews and then press the review you were examining.  Ideally, you should be given the option to let a new reviewer access to previous revisions.  At minimum the versions you are not allowed to see should be disabled from the drop down.  The compare view allows comparisons to previous revisions without errors regardless of when they were added.  That would be my preferential behavior for both views.

A lot of this is due to timing and permissions. I am making an assumption that this new Reviewer has permissions to the whole project. If this is the case, they would be able to access old revisions of the Rolling Review if: none of the items which have been involved in the history of the rolling review have been deleted. You cannot give back-permissions to deleted items in the Rolling Review so, you will get a message saying that this new Reviewer cannot access parts of the Review. Have any of the past items in your rolling reviews been deleted?

Your ideas about: Giving the option for a new Reviewer to access previous revisions and disabling previous versions, you are not allowed to see, from the dropdown and making everything align with the Compare View; are reasonable behaviors and I would invite you to go to our Feature Request community, search threads there for similar requests and either add on to a similar thread or create a new one with your requests.
