    Hi,

May I know whether there is a way to link the Defect ID to relevant Failed Test Cases?

    Hello Dilusha,
You can relate a defect to a test case while you are in the Test Run window. You would need to set up a destination for the Test Run Defects to be sent to. Which is done by navigating to Configure Project > Settings. I added a couple screenshots in case you needed some visual assistance.

    Hi Dana,

Is it possible to relate a test run to an existing defect instead of create a new one from the execution?
If it's not, is it possible to create relate existing test run to an anomaly? I mean in the anomaly or test run screen, not in execution?

    Thanks,

    Hi Albert,

You should be able to relate your Test Run to an existing Defect.

Please open the Test Run in Single Item View (SIV) and select the Relationships widget. From there, you should be able to select Relate Items and select an existing Defect in the right-hand side Relate Items pop-up window. Example:

Can you let me know if that works?

    Hi Decoteau,

    Thanks for your reply.

When I try to relate a run with an existing anomaly, I can't see any of the existing anomalies in the system (there're plenty of them)

I also tried to use the search tab but the anomalies doesn't show either.

May I have a missing configuration?

    Thank you very much,

    Hi Albert,

Do you have relationships configured between these item types? You can refer to this User Guide page on Managing Relationship Rules for more information on where to find this setup.

    Hi Decoteau,

many thanks for your reply, I can't see the Organization section on the setup by following the guide.
I guess that I don't have permissions for it, I will ask for them to my IT Admin.
In the relationships chart I'm not able to see the Test Runs, so clearly the problem is that there's no relation between both item types.

I will try to get this relationship and will tell you something about how it worked.

Thank you very much for your support.

    Hi Albert,

Yes, an Org Admin can check and alter the Relationship Rules on your Admin page.

In the meantime, you can preview what the rules are for your Project here:

Once your Admin has tried this route, please let me know if allowing relationships between Test Runs and Defects for this Project helps with your use case.

    Thanks!

    Hi Decoteau,

You were right, It was the relationship missing between the Test Runs and Defects:

Now I'm able to relate them from the defect itself.

    Thank you very much!
