    What mechanisms cause a Jama cloud account to get locked out from
    failed login attempts? I know that nine or ten consecutive failed login
    attempts will definitely lock the account for 30 minutes but there seems
    to be another mechanism that causes accounts to get locked.

    • Is there a certain maximum number of failed login attempts that is allowed within a certain time-frame
    • How does Jama Cloud decide when a certain login activity seems suspicious enough to deserve a lock-out?

    We are trying to authenticate through the REST API and seeing account lockouts very frequently.

    Yes, the maximum number of failed login attempts is 10. You will then be locked out for 30 minutes before you can attempt to login again. The suspicious activity is the 10 failed login attempts itself. So, your first thought was correct!
