  • 1.  Filter selected Item Type across some projects

    Posted 18 days ago
    Hello,
I have trouble with filtering configuration.

I need to get all items with a specified Item Type (e.g. Epic) across some selected projects.
I'm trying to use the multiple criteria approach:

    Select a project: All projects
    Type: Epic
     - Item Path "contains word" PRJ1*
     - Item Path "contains word" PRJ2*
     - Item Path "contains word" PRJ5*

But even with one line I always get 0 Results.
Without the "Item Path" filtering I'm getting all Epics from all Projects

At the same time, in Project 1 (project key is  PRJ1) within the Item Path column, all items have "PRJ1 - " at the beginning

Is filtering by Item Path working?

Or maybe someone knows how better solve my task with another filtering parameter(s)?

    Hello Alexey,

Thank you for posting in the Community. You may find our Advanced Filter resources helpful. If you scroll to the bottom you can see how to add and edit item types. We Recommend customers utilize a global item type schema across all projects that utilize similar product line/process. Changes to item types affect all projects in your instance of Jama Connect. You can define an item type once, and all projects have access to that type. Item types can't be customized for individual projects.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.

    Hi Amanda,

    Thank you for your answer.
Yes, I'm using the Advanced Filter, but seems the problem is with the Item Path field.
I tried to create a very simple filter:

    Select a project: Project 1
    Match: All item type
    Item Path: contains word PRG1*

And this query returns 0 results.
Without the "Item Path" filtering query returns all items, and in the list view, they all start with "PRG1-*" in the Item Path column.

    Hi Alexey,

We're still using an older version of Jama so we don't have an "Item Path" as a filter attribute.  I usually use the "ID" attribute to do a similar filter:

    Select a project: All Projects
    Match: Epic
ID "contains word" PRG1*  (I'm assuming PRG1 is the project key.  I usually filter on sets so will look for set keys, *SETKEY*, which I'll surround with the * )
