New Relic Installation

  • 1.  New Relic Installation

    Posted 06-12-2019 17:04
We have installed New Relic (java agent) following the New Relic instructions and made the appropriate license and application settings on the Contour console. The agent appears to be running but it is not transmitting data. I found one reference that says we must "Include the unzipped folder in your Docker image." I don't know 1) if this statement is correct or 2) what that means.

Where would I ADD this file reference to (assuming ADD /path/<file.tgz> ???)

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

*We did successfully run a 3-month trial of New Relic Infrastructure that we were able to install with yum. The java agent, however, is giving us fits.

    Hi Janet,

Can you please clarify where you're seeing this reference as I couldn't find it in our Admin Console instructions?
Also, please confirm the Jama version you are using.

    Thanks,

    Hi Janet,

I am posting here your response (sent directly to me) so we can wrap up this discussion ;)

    We are on version 8.25.5.

Relinking the JAMA blog entry where I saw the reference to adding the file to the Docker image: Monitoring Java Applications Successfully | Jama Software

You can run this command on your server to list out all your Docker images: sudo docker images

List of all Docker images in the server
You'll need to use the latest image IDs, found in the IMAGE ID column, in the command of that page. You may need to repeat the command with each of the latest images found.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
