Legacy ID field

  • 1.  Legacy ID field

    Hello,

I have a older project (made in another tool) that I want to import into the JAMA.
I want JAMA to assign new requirementIDs, but I still want to keep track of my legacyIDs.

What is the best way to do this?

I was hoping I could do this in the item types, but there seem not to be a "widget" for this. Would it be possible to define new widgets?

Hi, to import items into Jama, here is a link to the section in our User Guide outlining the different ways to import.

To keep track of your legacyID's you will have to make a Custom Field and add this to the Item Type you are wanting to utilize to hold this data in. You would then map (during the import process) this field to import the legacyID into.

If you are importing ReqIF and are dealing with a large amount of data, you might want to reach out to your Jama Account Manager and ask about how to get access to Data Exchange: a new UI to map data from your ReqIF file to match your data in Jama Connect.

    Hope this helps,
