Hyperlinks in exported Word documents

    Hi Support,

    When I export a Word doc from Jama, any hyperlinks in the doc are not displayed in the usual fashion (i.e. blue font and underlined). The Word 'Style' for hyperlinks in my exporting template see to be correct - the Style specifies the customary blue font with underlining - so I don't think that's the issue.

    Interestingly, the hyperlinks are actually there and do work - it's just that they're not displayed in any obvious way.

    I've taken to actually setting the font colour to blue in the the Jama RTE and this functions as a work-around but it's pretty darned clunky.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Hi Ian,

    It looks like this is a bug introduced in Jama 8.1; no matter what you set the template style as, Word loses the hyperlinks. We have this recorded as SOS-DEF-1395. I don't have any other workarounds to suggest, but given how manual this workaround is (individually change the color of each link?) I am asking we reconsider the severity of this bug.

    Hi Kristina,

    We came across the same issue.

    The following was a relatively painless fix.
    (found here - Turning active hyperlinks back to blue)

    The solution we just is copied below as well.

    Resetting the style of all Hyperlinks back to default requires a VBA Macro.

    Code:

    Sub RestoreHyperlinkStyle() Dim hl As Hyperlink For Each hl In ActiveDocument.Hyperlinks hl.Range.Style = wdStyleHyperlink Next End Sub

    Steps:

    1. Press Alt+F11 to open Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications.
    2. Double-click on "ThisDocument".
    3. Paste the code from the block above into the editor.
    4. Press F5 to run the code.
    5. Delete the code from the editor window to prevent Word from saving with Macros.

    Hi Shane,

    Great to get advice on a work-around for this bug!

    BUT, I got a 'compile error' when I tried to follow your instructions - it seemed to choke on the "Dim"

    I really have no idea what I'm doing with macros so maybe I'm missing something obvious. Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Hi Ian,

    Its possibly the way the code pasted in the window above. Here it is again but with proper carriage returns.

    Sub RestoreHyperlinkStyle()
    Dim hl As Hyperlink
    For Each hl In ActiveDocument.Hyperlinks
    hl.Range.Style = wdStyleHyperlink
    Next
    End Sub

    Regards
    Shane
