Changing the Set Key

  • 1.  Changing the Set Key

    Posted 25 days ago
    Hi,

I have a set which contains a few hundred system requirements.  For arguments sake it was set up with a key of ABC, so each item within this set has a Project ID which looks like this:

    TESTPRJ-SYSR_ABC-001

I now have a need to potentially change the set key from ABC to XYZ

I can see that the set is editable and I can change the name, however the key seems to be read-only.

Is it possible to firstly change the set key and secondly can the project ID of the child items within the set be updated to reflect the set key, so TESTPRJ-SYSR_ABC-001  would become TESTPRJ-SYSR_XYZ-001

    Thanks.

    Hi Andy!

You can change the Set Id within the project from ABC to XYZ. You will need to have organizational or project administrator permissions to accomplish this.

Here is an article in the Community outlining this process: How Set Key And Item Type Key Changes Work.
And here is the section of the User Guide: Change Set Key.
