    Hi,

    I remember the functionality in the review center where my rejected items will maintain through the update of the new revision. Was this functionality changed in the new version of the JAMA?

    Hey Rahul,

    Thanks for reaching out. While we recently made changes to the review center wizard in 8.42, we haven't made any changes recently to the review center reading view or single item view - the areas where the approved and rejected status icons reside. The review should keep any items an approver has marked approved or rejected (or finished if the participant is a reviewer) when new revisions are published as long as the item has not been edited. Items that have been edited from one revision to the next will result in the respective item's review status being cleared. The idea behind this is to focus the approver or reviewer on the items that have changed from one revision to the next.

    I am glad you asked that, I happen to know that there is added documentation that is currently going through an editing process right at this moment from our Product Marketing department. These resources will be made public in the Community soon!

    Do we have any anticipated dates on which this will be released?

     

    We are in the wild wild west of reviewing and I am afraid that ppl are going to get frustrated and stop using it.

There is also a webinar we are signing people up for, which should go more into depth about the new changes. You might have noticed a few posts around the Community about this subject lately, I wanted to make sure I completed the circle of communication.

    A user noticed that the default condition when adding users to a review is that they are now approvers rather than reviewers. Since we typically have a to more reviewers, this requires a great deal of mouse-clicks to fix. Is there a way to set a default for added users?

    Also, we have intermittent cases of reviews being closed prematurely. Our workaround is to extend the review by one hour to re-open it. Is anyone else seeing this?

    Hey Jamey,

    Great question - I can help clarify the change that led to the user noticing that. When we refreshed the initiate review wizard in 8.42, we decided to make a change to the default settings for review participants. Now, if the moderator has chosen to enable the "Require electronic signatures from approvers" setting in the Settings panel, when they add users in the Participants panel, we default the review role to an approver. When the "Require electronic signatures from approvers" setting is not enabled, when the moderator adds users in the Participants panel, we default the review role to a reviewer.

    The idea here is that we believe more users in reviews requiring electronic signatures will be approvers. We decided to maintain the previous default if the review does not require electronic signatures.

    I would ask the user who noticed the issue if they can check the Settings panel of the review to see if the "Require electronic signatures from approvers" setting is enabled. If that's not the case and the default is behaving incorrectly, let us know and we'll work with you to dig into the issue.

    I'm not seeing the second issue you brought up on our side at the moment.
