Lawrence:
You are correct but, I played around with it and observed that if you have your item-type configured to use the actual Attachment Widget (as in a separate Attachment field) then there is a capability to click into the attachment item, then click on a "Items with Attachment" window which shows you the item its attached to.
I know these are some extra steps but, I thought I should share it just in case.
Alternatively, I would invite you to go to Participate > Suggest a Product Idea and post this use case in the form of a discussion post, to get this in front of our Product teams!
Cheers!

Yes, Herald's idea only gives you a list of attachments, it doesn't show you the items the attachment has been attached to.

Hi Lawrence!
Have you tried @Harald Hotz-Behofsits solution with the advanced filtering? I think its a good one!
Best,

Us as well. It's crazy there is no way to figure out what item an attachment has been attached to.
Somebody from Jama, please come up with a solution! On a large project, it isn't feasible to go through each item to see if it has the attachment in question.

Hi,
I just faced the same need - I have over 300 items in my project and I noticed 1 of them includes an attachment - how to find which one of the items has the attachment? I found no way other than checking items one by one - not very convenient...

Thanks for the idea Harald.
This filter is helpful to identify the Attachments list, but it doesn't help finding to what Jama item they are attached.
Unfortunately, extracting the Attachments without knowing to what JAMA item they are attached doesn't fulfill our needs...

Don't know if the following helps you.
You can create an advanced filter, with the following condition:
Match: "All item Types"
ID "conatins word" "*-ATT-*"
This delivers a list of all attachments in your project under the assumption you have no own itemtype created with key ATT.

I am in the process of exporting our JAMA use cases to Word.
Since the Attachments are not exported with the STY, I need to go through all Use Cases one by one to identify which one has attachments and save the attachments on my disk.
Is there a more convenient way I could identify or filter the Use Cases having attachments?
Thanks.
