  • 1.  User import failed - could not load import plugin

    Posted 05-08-2018 21:59
I followed the directions in the tutorial for importing users after adding the plugin, using the Custom Import window.
The import failed (small test spreadsheet of two users). The message is "Unable to load import plugin." I copied this from the tutorial: codecom.jamasoftware.contour.plugin.jama.UserImportPlugin when I added the plugin.
    What's wrong?
    Thanks. John

I'm not sure if the tutorial you are referring to is the help doc or something different.

The class is "com.jamasoftware.contour.plugin.jama.UserImportPlugin" without the "code" prefix that is in your message. If that is directly copied, please let me know the source and we will get it corrected.

It was in the Jama User Guide under Configure User Import Plugin
I copied the class name - and just checked again to see what it says. Iit says: codecom.jamasoftware.contour.plugin.jama.UserImportPlugin.
Please correct this so someone else doesn't fall into the trap.
    Thanks. John

I corrected the class name, and got another error - the input file is attached - two email addresses with the columns as directed by the Jama User Guide.

    Here's the error message:

My guess is that you need to save the Excel document as a CSV, but I'd recommend that you contact Jama Support for help working through this.

I changed the file format to CSV and it worked just fine to import users.

The problem now is that when I create a review, there is no choice for  "Outside Project Team" or the green button to "Invite user by email." So the reviewers I just added are not available.
They all show up on the Users Admin page, so they are in Jama - I just can't add them as reviewers.

Please find out why this isn't working.
    Thanks. John

It appears there was an error in the documentation. The correct Class should be:

    com.jamasoftware.contour.plugin.jama.UserImportPlugin

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and helping improve the documentation for other users!

As to the Outside Team Reviewers not being available to invite to a review, I'll admit that my problem was the result of a user error - I had unchecked a box on the Review Center configuration. The Help Desk asked the right question - that's when we found it.
    Thanks! John
