Would it be possible to extend the Jama search function, to also be able to search in text inside Jama diagrams?

Thanks for sharing this idea, Morten. How often do you see text in your diagram that is not reflected elsewhere in that item? Do you label heavily in the diagram? Or include large swathes of text that aren't elsewhere in the item?

For our use of Jama it is very common to have items that only contain a diagram. We try to avoid having duplicated information in our requirements, so mostly the item contains very little text except for the diagrams.

We mainly use diagrams to describe user interaction, so the diagrams are mostly flowcharts with annotations.

Ah, now I understand why search in diagrams is so important. Thanks for adding that.

I think this is theoretically possible.  The diagram data is stored as XML that could be indexed.   As more customers express need for this we will certainly consider it.

    Hi,

has the "search inside diagrams" feature been discussed again?
We are looking for this feature as well, because we are thinking about moving our Design Specificaitons (which are UML) over to Jama. Not being able to search for e.g. class names within all the specs might be a blocker at the moment.

    Looking forward to answers,
    Anna
