Please consider to improve how it is possible to copy tables from Excel and in fact how it is possible to copy any OLE objects from Word, Excel,... to RTF field. This a long time issue (originally reported with 2015 version and still persists in 8.15) and users are complaining that a lot of manual work is required to fix poor copy&paste. One example as a representative:
Thank you

I often have users complain of the copy/paste from Word, Excel, etc. to Jama RTE field. I try to discourage it and suggest they author directly in the tool...but still people seem to like to first author in Word to get their thoughts & formatting together then paste into Jama. The formatting doesn't always translate perfectly.0

I agree this is long overdue for improvement. FWIW - we find that you get better results if you copy-paste a table from Excel into Word and then copy-paste from Word to Jama. Colors, cell alignment, borders, etc. more closely match the original Excel if you take the table into Word first.0

We've been working with our rich text editor vendor for a while on bringing this functionality into Jama, but haven't been able to due to some technical limitations of the editor. Those limitations have since been resolved, and we are now planning on bringing better cut and paste from Excel into Jama by 8.20, which is our next standard release. I was demoing the newest version of the editor from the vendor last week, and believe this upgrade should resolve the issue you're experiencing.Joel Hutchinson

Hello,
I am currently trying to copy and paste an excel document into Jama but not all the borders make the transition. Is there some way to fix this? It doesn't make sense that some borders make it while others do not. I have tried putting it into Word first but it is a more complex table and still did not have all of the borders in the end.0 -
The table function within JAMA does not allow users to insert rows, and if I try to add a row at the bottom, copy everything from where I want the row inserted and paste it back in, the table doesn't stay in the same formatting. And, if I copy the table to Word, insert my row, copy and try to paste back in, I lose some of the borders.0
