Allow Custom Items to be "Text type" (Item-sub-item structure vs. default set structure)

Throughout our use of Jama, we have found that being restricted to organizing items in "sets" is a limiting feature. It decreases your ability to organize information and subsequently expose that information externally via Review Center. I just submitted another request about sorting mixed item types in Review Center (Feature Requests - Jama Software Community) that I feel is more or less related to this request. It is interesting that the Text item type does not require sets and can allow items to be directly nested under components. Additionally, even without the sets you are still able to nest items using "sub-items". Why can't we do this with any item? It would make life so much easier from a sorting perspective. Please view the screenshots below and notice that the three options when creating a custom item type are "Default" (requires sets), "Test Case" (requires sets), and "Defect" (requires sets). Can we get some flexibility and add an additional option for "Text" here? Or just another type that uses the item-sub-items structure as opposed to the set-children structure?

We would also be very interested in the ability to organize mixed item types in the same "folder".  We would like to be able to structure our project so that each parent item could have multiple "children" of a different item type.

    For example:
    •   Feature 1 (Item type feature)
      • Test Case 1.1 (Item type Test Case)
      • Test Case 1.2
      • Test Case 1.3
    •  Feature 2
      • Test Case 2.1
      • Test Case 2.2
In this scenario, the Feature would have a set of fields appropriate to a feature, and a Test Case would have a set of fields appropriate for a test case.
