Hello,
Currently, the Jama notification system is very basic. One can only really turn it on, or turn it off; and you can only either subscribe at the entire project level, or subscribe at the item level.
As a result, the current notification model is not that effective. Users end up subscribing to the entire project, only to be inundated with notifications of every item update, addition, etc.
We think any change that can result in more targeted notifications will make notifications much more useful.
Some suggestions we have:
Thanks!

Some suggestions we have:
- Increase notification subscription granularity. Add the ability to subscribe for notifications at the component, set, or folder levels.
- Notification filtering on event type. Add the ability to choose what events to be notified for. Event examples: edits/updates, deletions, additions.
- Notification filtering on field values. Add the ability to configure notification based on field values. For text fields, this would be the ability to be notified based on a regular expression (eg. exact match, contains match, begins with match, ends with match, etc.). For picklist fields, this would be the ability to be notified when a certain option is selected (or a set of options for multiselect fields). And so on..
Thanks!

I totally agree with Victor; more targeted notifications will make notifications much more useful. As of now, one can simply mute those notifications.0

Having the ability to control when to send the notifications will relieve a lot of frustration by our business partners. For example, we would like to control whether to send the reminder notification if the user has already reviewed/approved the requirements.Robena Sukhu

I would like to point out that folks can subscribe to components, sets and folders. Click on the View option near the name at the top when viewing one of those collections and from the Actions menu choose Subscribe. You won't get to pick and choose the actions or anything else described in your request, but you get notified about any updates within that collection without subscribing to the whole project.
Additionally, each user has the option within their profile to opt to receive subscription notifications immediately, daily or weekly. If another user opts to notify them those are always immediate.0
