Locate JAMA items orphaned by JIRA

Problem:
I have teams who have deleted large sets of JIRA data without individually deleting linked items in JAMA. The users would like to identify all the JAMA items that have orphaned to delete the items and ensure JIRA & JAMA have the same data.
Our Jama Admins can identify the orphans based on JIH Error logs - "the proxy task does not exist (ArtifactNotFoundException)." However, we would like to empower our users to take action without engaging an Admin.
Idea:
Given that we have SaaS Jama and internal JIRA the options are limited from Jama. An option that could work would be to have JIH write synch errors to a each Jama project. Minimally it gives Jama project users visibility into the sync process and status.
