Trace View from an Item selection

Hi,
I would like to initiate a Trace View from an Item selection (Item View).
Today Trace View can only be opened from a List View or Reading View defined by the selection of a Component, a Set, a Folder or the definition of a Filter.
This means that we may need to scroll over a large number of items before finding our Item of interest in Trace View.

Could you explain more about your workflow within the single item view and that transition into the TraceView? What are you doing in the Single Item view which needs information from the TraceView? Do you need to go back and forth between the Single Item View and the Trace View multiple times, for what purpose?

Hi Chloe, I would like to trace the downstream and upstream items of a selected item. From its Single Item View, I can for course have a view of the immediate up/downstream items but I would prefer to go in Trace View. It's more convenient to explore over several levels and preview data fields.
For implementation proposal, see the link in my second post. I think it would make the different views more coherent.0 -
Hi Chloe, I don't necessarily need to go back and forth between Single Item View and Trace View, I would rather like to be able to do more thinks in Trace View see:
