Export images in excel

We want to export into an excel file items that have images and tables etc in the description or other field. We are seeing them being removed or altered. Is there a work around to export into excel and preserve the images and tables in the cell for those fields?

Hi! Are you using a built-in export…or a custom-built Velocity template?

A built in export

I believe the problem there is due to how Excel handles figures and tables

How can you export into excel and keep the tables and images intact? Have you been able to do this or found another way to accomplish this?

Confirmed: if I:
- create a text or requirement
- put an image in both items' description
- Use the OOTB "Export > Export to Excel" option
…then no images appear in the exported Excel file.
- We've found the OOTB export template system extremely lacking in features — and apparently Support doesn't like to support the Microsoft-Word-based template field-codes export feature.
- (we didn't even try to customize the Excel export — only Word)
- We paid for the hour-long "Jama Velocity Template Reporting - Beginner" training for our team. After the training was over, we received boilerplate Velocity template files to export to Word and to Excel.
- We've only used the Velocity export-to-Word template file. Might want to ask your Jama rep if the export-to-excel will export images.

We have used Velocity quite a bit in our organization, and we don't get images into the Excel Velocity exports.
