How to Sync Changes with Locked Items

Use Case

  1. We duplicate Project X 1.0 for the next release, Project X 2.0. Most all our requirements are reviewed and are in the "accepted" state which we configured a system lock for this state
  2. We realize we need to make changes to Project 1.0 and we want to incorporate these changes into Project 2.0

Challenge: When we try to sync we get a message that we cannot sync because the item is locked. It would appear we need to set this requirement out of the accepted state. We tried to find a way to identify item changes in a filter, but could not find any such way to find these items. The only solution we have found is to:

  1. View Synced Items
  2. Identify the item that has been changed
  3. Go to that item and change the state to rework
  4. Go back to the synced item and push the change

This is a painstaking process to update 10s or 100s of requirements. Is there a process flow I am missing? Is there a way to push these changes that are in a locked state?
