  • 1.  Filter on test case steps being missing/empty

    Posted 11-18-2022 12:41
I am trying to create a simple filter to find test cases missing steps. The most logical filter would be to filter for Validation Test Cases where "Steps is empty":

However, as shown above, this filter does not work even though I am positive that there are hundreds of VALTC missing steps in my project right now. I assume this is because the default/unpopulated Steps field contains something (?) that prevents this filtering code from considering it truly "empty".

Are there any known solutions or work-arounds to this?

    Hi Robert,

What version of Jama Connect are you seeing this with, and what browser(s) (including version number(s)) are you accessing it in?

Much appreciated, Robert! It looks like you've encountered a known defect, SOS-DEF-5534, "Filter: For Test case item type 'is empty/is not empty' conditions does not return correct results for 'Steps' field". I've logged your experience in our internal system, and you can check future release notes for this ID to see if this defect has been fixed.
