Triggering Velocity Reports in specific time interval (like a cron)

Hello,
is it possible to trigger a Velocity report periodically? I've noticed that when you trigger it from Jama GUI, there is network query that launches it. It would be useful if using this query we can somehow get the result of the report.
Typical use case is simple dump to xml using velocity. In case you have more than 1000 items, it is much faster to use velocity to get content and relationships than using rest api.
