Allow Customization of the "Reading View" in the same way as the "Review Reading View"

This is a good point Dana, and ultimately we agree. As a result, we are working on adding field content (and the ability to choose what that content is) to the Reading View versus adding additional lines to fields in the List View.

The point about different purposes for the two views was a common topic in research sessions. When we started this work we thought about persisting changes to the field content from one view to the other but ultimately decided against it for this reason.

Thanks for posting Mary. We are actively working on the Reading View now. Removing document numbering and adding the item ID are among the first changes we plan to make. Next steps once we've made those changes will be to provide an improved way to visually see the item hierarchy and then giving users the ability to add field content.

In the next several releases we'll be incrementally introducing new functionality for this view so expect to see these updates in the release notes and what's new videos in the future.

We'd also like this feature.  We'd like to be able to customize the reading view to display additional fields beyond the name and description fields.  We'd like the ability to choose which additional fields to display.  

Currently, Jama doesn't have a good way to display information from multiple fields at once from multiple items i.e.

• The table view doesn't display rich text well and users can only see the first part of the entry.  
• The reading view only displays the name and description field.

Is there a time frame for when the customisable reading view functionality will be available.  The original ticket was raised over 2 years ago and since may of this year comments by the jama team have suggested this is on it's way but the product bulletins refer to other reading view improvements.
As we have to export to Word or create a review to be able to read all other fields with their formatting applied this is something we would really appreciate being available.  Having only recently implemented jama to remove MS Office from our requirements management process we find we have to export to see all data - not great.  Especially when the functionality to customise the list view and the reading view in the review centre is already available.
Looking forward to an update (and a timeline of when this functionality is expected to be delivered)

Thanks for posting Gavin, I appreciate it. We're set to release our first increment of field functionality in the Reading View in the 8.22 release. What you'll see in that release is the ability to configure the following fields:

As with List View, Jama Administrators will be able to configure the Reading View for various item types. Users will see field selections maintained across sessions.

  Allow users to export with selected fields from the Reading View, and
