is there a way to batch update blocked reasons for several test cases in a test run?

I know how to update the Blocked Reason field for each test case in a test run. Sometimes when there are multiple test cases that are blocked for the same reason (e.g., waiting for next built, waiting for next OS), it will be nice to do a batch update or RoundTrip. Is there a way? Is this something that we need a Velocity report/update to do?

Hi Swoo,
As you may know, Kristina's out for the next few days, but I checked in with some colleagues and we can't come up with a good way to do this. Specifically, since you can't import test cases, it doesn't seem like it should be possible with a Velocity report. I don't think you are using a version with the API so I haven't considered the solutions in that area but could consult with an expert if this happens to be useful information - let me know.
If the API won't help you, I think your best bet is filing an Idea for our Product team so they can consider it as they plan the Future of Jama.0 -
Chris, thanks for your quick reply. So you do not think Shawnna can do a magical Velocity report? Have you checked with her or another Velocity expert? Have a great evening. Swoo0

Hi Chris, thanks for checking with the Shawanna. I am undecided whether to refer her to be the Princess Leia of the the Velocity Universe or Yoda-tress, Master Velocity Jedi :-)

Shawnna advises against it - while it may be possible, it's not really a good practice and the other "possible" way of changing the database directly is similarly really not recommended.0

Sometimes You might need dark Vader!0

Chris, thanks for the advice from Shawnna. Please then submit this as an enhancement for the product team to consider making test management functions more complete and symmetrical to other Jama functions. Have a good day. Swoo0

Harold, I agree with you. At my company we have various capabilities to extend functions and usabilities. Sometimes I am not sure how much of the Force that we use is Dark. :-)0

Heya Swoo - you know we love you but we still want you (rather than us) to submit the product Idea so in case our Product team has followup questions we're not trying to guess what you want or play "telephone" between you and them
I know you've seen it before, but here's a link for the others watching: https://community.jamasoftware.com/jama/topics/what-does-jama-do-with-ideas-posted-in-the-community0 -
Chris, thanks for letting me know. I thought sometimes Krisitna change the category from a question to an idea. I will check with her next week. By the way, I work at a company that has formal relationships with Jama, I am officially not allowing myself to submit enhancement requests publically. I will work through our internal process to make the request. Have a great day.0

Is there any plan for these? We would also like to update the Test Results of a batch of Test Runs.-------------------------------------------

@Gerome, there have been no changes in how Test Runs function.0

So there will be no plans to add this feature of batch updating multiple test runs ?0

Hi Gerome,
We're always open to looking at feature enhancement suggestions, and you're welcome to create an idea card through our Ideation module. Doing so would allow our Product team to learn more your usage case, as the Ideation module is specifically designed to facilitate conversations around the continual evolution of Jama Connect.
Also, users can like and/or comment on any submitted card to reflect their support of that idea. Our feedback loop is outlined here: Product Ideation Process.

As a side note, since this thread is a few years old, I'm going to close it in the meantime.
