Changes in Diagram Editor are not being saved

I have a text item and successfully created a diagram within it.  When I go back and make additional changes to the diagram and then click on "Save and Close" within the editor to get back to the item, none of my changes have been saved and the "Save" and "Save and done" on the item are grayed out.  If I make a change to another field in the item, the "Save" and "Save and done" buttons become enabled, but changes to the diagram are lost.  It's very frustrating after having made quite a number of changes to my diagram.

    Gulam:

Does your diagram happen to be Center-Aligned? If it is, let's try something:

    1. Align your diagram to the right or left
    2. Make your edits
    3. Save it
    4. Then put your diagram to the center

Let me know if this works.

I found that when I make a change in the diagram editor, I need to click off of the item just changed and then click on "save and close"

    @Mike:

Thanks for adding to and informing this thread further, it is super useful to have other Community Members do that!

I like your "Life is good" icon, by the way.

I just encountered this weirdness with the diagram editor and wasted a good half hour wondering what on earth was going on. I had to align left to have it edit and save appropriately. When centered the system also seemed to periodically consider it an image. As this was known to be a problem over a year ago is there any intention on the Jama side to improve the robustness of the graph editor implementation?

    Hi team
It looks like the behavior you are reporting is a bug related to SOS-DEF-540/SOS-BUG-665. If you have any questions about our bug fixing process, I recommend reading this article in our community.

It's been internally noted that the cause of the bug is technical debt around the CKEditor control and that this may be fixed with the CKEditor upgrade we're planning on doing. Unfortunately I don't have a specific date as to when this will be implemented but it is currently on our Product teams roadmap for one of our next few releases. We also know that this update will fix at least a few of our CKEditor related bugs.

    Hello,

I came across this exact issue while trying to edit a diagram in Jama. I tried the suggested workaround of aligning left and re-centering, but that did not work. Please address this bug --  it makes the diagram tool basically unusable. It appears that it was identified 5 years ago and still hasn't been resolved.

    Hi Molly,

Thank you for trying the recommended workaround; since it hasn't worked when you've tried it, I'd recommend reaching out to our Support team to dig in deeper with you here.

To do so, please open a ticket hereand reference this thread in the ticket description (as well as the version and type of Jama Connect you're using, along with any other pertinent info) on it. In the meantime, I'll be closing this thread due to its age.
