What does the checkbox in the Trace View do?
our users have asked what they can do with the items they check in the Trace View:
I tried to find an answer in the software, but did no succeed. In case relationship rules are configured and a downstream item is missing, the read exclamation mark is displayed instead of the checkbox.
Please enlighten us, what that checkbox is for.
Thank you,
Anna

Hi Anna,
The checkboxes are there to give the user a way to keep items highlighted as they navigate through the Trace View. I have not found any other use for them.http://help.jamasoftware.com/ah/en/manage-content/coverage-and-traceability/trace-view.html

Hey Anna,Great question. That checkbox in the Trace View is actually pretty handy. Basically, it helps you keep track of which items you've reviewed or confirmed as being okay within the context of your software. So, when you check an item, it means you've verified it or taken some action on it.Now, about the red exclamation mark you mentioned: that usually pops up when there's some sort of issue with a downstream item, like it's missing or there's a rule violation. It's a visual indicator to draw your attention to potential problems. In my experience, using a checkbox to mark items as you review them helps ensure you don't overlook something important. That is all I have been able to find out about your question.Hope that clears things up for you.
