Support for Tables in Test Case Steps

I have a need to have tables in the test case steps.
They are required to follow the company's style guide as well sometimes used to provide example output formatted in a clean way.

For now, I can create tables in another section, such as notes and then cut/paste that into the test steps... but it would be much easier for workflow and for on-boarding other employees if this could be added directly to the editor controls for test steps.

Would it be possible to enable the tables control for the editor used to edit test case steps?

I am seeing two ways to do what you need: have a table available in the test steps.

You can utilize these two icons (add a picture or add a file) in your Test Steps editor:

I know I didn't directly answer your question about having the table controls in the Steps area of the Test Case. Right now, we do not have this capability. This would be a good Product Idea, as we are currently looking at different ways to improve the Test Center. I would suggest that you go to the Product nav tab and select Product Ideas, then make a post about this there. I will look for it and add this thread to it and/or give it an administrative "Test" tag.

Hi, thanks for the suggestions.
Unfortunately these won't work for us.
Updating an image is too high of overhead and using a spreadsheet doesn't help for keeping our style guide (and we need to be able to export to Word with keeping good formatting).

For now it'll have to be acceptable for us to create the tables in another section and simply cut/paste them into the steps.
But if you would be able to request having the table controls added to the test case steps editor then that would be a big help in the future.

Is it possible to add images, active URL links (i.e. Richtext support) to the Action or Expected Result columns within the Step field?

The Jama Software User Guide article "Add images to test steps" would have the most updated guidance for this process, and I'd recommend checking it out if you haven't already!
