Adding a single item (custom type) in the explorer root?

Hi,
I have defined a new item type ("YAML Data", with the purpose of holding machine readable metadata for a project), enabled this type for my project, and would now like to be able to place it right next to the root node in the Explorer, before or after the common "Read Me" text item.
When I right-click on the root node to add a new item, I can only place a "Text" item though, or a "Component", or a "Set of...".
Is there a way to configure the system so that also my "YAML Data" item would be selectable in addition to "Text"? Right now, I have to create an intermediate Set which then holds my single "YAML Data" item.
Thanks in advance!

You have interpreted the add-new-item GUI correctly ... the only types of items that can be placed at the root of a project are components, sets, and text items.

Alright, I will have to live with my current solution then.
Thanks for the quick reply!
