Giving user group access to a component

Hi,

I have a supplier group that I want to give access to a component in one of our projects.  Looking at the Permissions setup, I can add a group at that level, but they can't see the component.  If I add the group to a project they can see it.  Is this a limitation in Jama, or is there something I may be doing wrong??

In order to give a user/group read access to anything in the project, you have to give them read access at the project level.   If you then don't want that user/group to have read access to all containers in the project, you need to explicitly remove their read access to each of the containers to which you don't want them to have read access.

So in this particular case, you would need to grant that group read access to the project, and then remove that group's read access to each of the components except for the one that you want to allow them to read.
