TestPlan - status

TestPlans can be sent for review, the test items can get included, but once the review is done, the TestPlan doesn't have a status field (or one that we can get to see).

The project can get obsolete testplans or rejected plans.

Is the status field missing? Is there a way to enable the viewing/changing the state of it?

    In the Item Types tab of the ADMIN/Organization page, someone with Process Admin privileges can add a custom field (such as a Status pick-list field) to Test Plans.

    A. We tested trying to add a status custom field, but it won't let use 'status' as a custom field name.
    B. I do want to understand the rationale behind not having a workflow on test plans as any other item since they require approval as part of planning in ISO26262 and similar standards.

    A. You can use Status as the label of the field ... but you cannot use "status" as the unique-name ... just give it a non-default unique-name, such as "status1".

    B.  I do not believe there is a (good) reason for this not being supported ... just a limitation on how test plans were originally implemented.  So please feel free to request this enhancement at: https://community.jamasoftware.com/product-ideas-suggest/ideation-home
