What’s New in Version 1.3

Jama Connect Interchange version 1.3 includes the following enhancements:

Sync Relationships from Jama to Jira

Items synced from Jama Connect to Jira Cloud can now include links to upstream- and downstream-related items. This allows users working in Jira to easily access related information, such as the upstream requirement for a user story, directly in Jama.

Related Items in Jama Connect Are Synced To Jira Cloud As Web Links

Relationships are displayed in Jira Cloud as web links. A Jira user can click the web link to open the related item directly in Jama.

To sync relationship links from Jama to Jira, add the following rows to the Field Mappings tab for the integration:

Sync Multiple Locations Per Field Mapping Group

For both Jira Cloud and Excel Functions integrations, you can now sync multiple sets of items using the same field mapping group. This feature streamlines the setup process by eliminating the need to map fields for each Jama set separately.

On the Field Mappings page, click Add new field mapping group and then use the transfer list to select the Jama sets and/or folders to sync. All selected sets must use the same item type (for example, System Requirements or Defects).

If necessary, you can add or remove sets from the field mapping group later on by clicking Edit mapping group on the Field Mappings page.

Run Excel Functions Across Item Of Type Fields

The Excel Functions module now includes the ability to run functions using data from the item selected in an Item of Type field.

Here are some examples of when this capability might be used:

  • Calculations Across Items
    • You can run complex calculations that include values from the core/current item as well as the item selected in the Item of Type field.
      • For example, a risk calculation that includes the Probability value from the current Risk item and the Severity value from the Hazard selected in the Item of Type field.

  • Auto-Fill Fields
    • Use this capability to automatically populate fields in the current item with information from the Item of Type item.

Minor Enhancements

The 1.3 release also includes the following minor enhancements:

  • Edit Field Mapping Direction
    • On the Field Mappings page, you can now modify the field mapping direction for individual rows after they have been saved. Previously, you had to delete the whole row if you wanted to change the direction.

  • TLS Version Support
    • JCI has been updated to remove support for outdated TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1. TLS 1.2 and 1.3 are now the only versions supported.
