Test Run status chart by Test Cycle

I am trying to get the dashboard widget to graph the test runs in a particular test plan by test cycle but it does not provide the axis option for cycle. I have tried a variety of filters but to no avail. Has anyone been able to use the complex chart for stacked bar chat to do this? This is the format that my PM is looking for data and thus far I have had to create a chart for each cycle or export all the data to excel to generate a stacked bar chart of test run status broken down by test cycle. Thanks for any pointers folks can provide.
