Event generation for "Start Test Run" clicks

I would like to know if clicking the "Start Test Run" button in the Execute Test window will generate an event that could be captured by REST APIs? The intention is to build a setup where clicking "Start Test Run" triggers a suite of tests on a local system.

    Clicking the "Start Test Run" button in the Execute Test window in Jama Connect® does not directly generate an event that can be captured via the REST API. However, you might be able to achieve your goal through a combination of API polling and event triggers.
