Issue Editing Test Case from Review Centre
We're using jama hosted solution and I've had a reported usability issue from my team when they are editing test cases from the review centre. If you click on rich text formatted test steps to edit (even if its just text) you'll get
- all the html tags associated with the text which is very annoying and difficult to modifiy the steps in particular when you have images or any formatting in the field
- test step edit window part is not enlargeable so it is difficult to edit the test step itself in it's entirety.
See screenshot of a test case being edited in review centre below
Is there any nice work around where you can see comments and address the review comments for test steps as well as edit in rich text easily so you can add images etc or has this been fixed somewhere?
It would be VERY helpful if this bug were fixed quickly.

This is interesting, do they run into this issue if they attempt to edit these items outside of the Review Center? Have you seen this behavior reflected in any non-Test Center item-types? And how long has your team noticed this behavior?
Thank you,0 -
Hi Chloe,
We don't see it when editing test cases normally that I know of. I've only recently switched on rich text in test steps so I wouldn't know how long this issue has been about. I first heard about the issue yesterday
Cheers

I was able to recreate this behavior when I tested it, you will also see that this behavior persists when you edit in the Single Item view using the "Edit" button. In the Single Item view you can bypass this behavior by clicking directly in the steps to edit. Whereas in the Review Center you cannot escape this particular behavior.
I filed a defect request fully outlining this for our Engineering and Product Teams. While I cannot communicate with authority the exact outcomes and timing on a fix, I do know that the Review Center is being specifically looked at for improvement and enhancement in the near future. All of these communications on the Community, Support and other channels contribute to that goal. Thank you for bringing this to our attention on the Community today, I have related your organization and this thread to this request. The defect key is: SOS-DEF-4379, you can use this key to look in future release notes to see if this has been fixed.
Please let me know if you have any questions!0 -
Hi Chloe,
Thanks for investigating further, yes, agree and confirm that this also occurs when the test case is in the edit pop out window outside of review centre.
We typically edit via clicking the edit pen so dont often get the pop out window.
I look forward to this issue being resolved.

Hi Fabrice,
Thank you for reaching out! This defect, SOS-DEF-4379, has not yet been fixed.
Please note, you can check future release notes for this ID to see if this bug has been fixed.
In addition to the workaround that you are using, you may also choose to do single-item view click-in edit only outside the Review Center (do not use the "Edit" button which pops up the EXT popup dialog.)
I have updated the defect by relating your issue. If you have any questions about our bug fixing process, I recommend reading this article in our community. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Any news about the plans to solve this SOS-DEF-4379 problem? Is there any planned release when it will be corrected?

Hello,
We are facing the same issue with the editing of test cases in review center with cloud environment 'Jama Connect 8.52.0'.
Can you share any progress about this issue ? As a workaround, we are using 2 tabs one in review the other in project.
Thank you,
Best regards.
