Relationships for Components

Hi all,
I have found out that it is possible to set relationships for Components, but not for Sets/Folders.
I was expecting either all or none. Is there a reason for enabling Relationships for Components?
Best,

    Hi Alessandro,

Thank you for reaching out! The Component should be in line with Sets and Folders. I would recommend not enabling relationships for a Component.

Please note, I have filed a defect for this issue - SOS-DEF-5056 - and have related this conversation to it.

You can check future release notes for this ID to see if this bug has been fixed.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

@Decoteau Wilkerson Can I check what the defect is specifically? We use relationships to components to allocate requirements to subsystems that will satisfy them before the downstream requirements with a satisfies relationship are created. This functionality has recently broken for us.

I really dont want to find components have had the relationships turned off to bring them into line with sets and folders to 'fix' this issue.

    Hello Tim,

Thank you for posting on this support discussion. As the post you replied to was made in 2020, the best way to identify if you are experiencing an open defect is to submit a request at the Jama Software® Support Site. Include as many details and examples as possible. Thank you!
