With Jama Connect Advisor™, we offer multiple ways to analyze your text, giving you the flexibility to tailor your approach based on your needs. However, there are important differences between submitting highlighted text for analysis with single statement and using the batch analysis function.

Single Statement Analysis

When you need a quick analysis of a specific portion of text, you can simply highlight it and submit it to Jama Connect Advisor for analysis. This method is ideal for:

  • Real-time while adding a new single requirement in Jama Connect
  • While editing a single requirement in Document View or Single Item View

Key Points:

  • Purpose: Ideal for analyzing small, single snippets of text.
  • Process: Immediate, quick analysis without requiring further processing.
  • Format: Works directly on highlighted text and ignores any underlying HTML tags.

Batch Analysis

For larger groups of requirements, especially those containing HTML formatting (e.g., text pasted from other documents or webpages), batch analysis offers a more comprehensive approach. Batch analysis is particularly useful when you need to analyze multiple requirements at once, but since it often includes HTML content, it requires additional steps to process effectively.

  • HTML Sanitization: In batch analysis, HTML tags or embedded formatting must be sanitized (removed) to ensure a clean, plain-text version is submitted for analysis. This step is essential to prevent HTML code from affecting the results.
  • Use Case: Best suited for bulk processing, where several text elements need analysis without manually selecting each requirement.

Key Points:

  • Purpose: Efficient for analyzing larger bodies of requirements and/or multiple requirements at once.
  • Process: Requires HTML sanitization to strip away code and extract only plain text for analysis.
  • Format: Converts the content into plain text to ensure accurate analysis results.

Choosing the Right Method

  • Use Single Statement Analysis if you're focusing on specific passages and want quick results during the creation or editing process.
  • Use Batch Analysis when dealing with larger groups of requirements that may also include additional formatting or content to streamline analysis across multiple entries.

By understanding these differences, you'll be able to leverage Jama Connect Advisor's analysis tools effectively, whether diving into the details of a specific requirement or conducting broader reviews across multiple requirements.
